Bill Coe photography featured at Wrightstone

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

An area photographer whose work is highly visible in the area will be featured through April 27 at the Wrightstone Fine Arts Gallery on the McCook Community College campus.

Max photographer Bill Coe is featured in this showing titled "Mostly Fun." The work covers everything from hot rods and bikers to cowboys and Indians.

Bill Coe sells photography featuring the still, mostly-unpopulated Midwest. From blazing sunrises and quiet sunsets, wildlife, cats, dogs, horses, and windmills to farm and ranch scenes.

"Anyone can be creative, but, to get good, you must work at it every day," he said.

Coe says of his photography that he likes to "help take your mind to a quieter place and yet not forget there is still excitement, awe and wonder in the everyday life of these quiet places."

His work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, television and in numerous art shows, including one-man shows. The photos have been shown from the East coast to the West coast and several spots in between.

Upcoming shows include a September showing at the Minden Opera House, and also an upcoming show at the Carnegie Art Center in Goodland.

The Wrightstone Gallery is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Tuesday and Thursdays until 9 p.m.
