What Anne Dowd won't do for the dogs! Even getting on a scale! Anne and her brother-in-law Larry Dowd prepare donations for the McCook Humane Society's annual rummage sale Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., in the 4-H Building on the Red Willow County fairgrounds in McCook, Nebraska. Donations can be taken to the 4-H Building today and Wednesday, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.; and Thursday, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday is "fluff and fold day," Anne said, and she asks that no donations be made that day. Changes this year include charging sales tax on all sales, and cash registers at all doors. All proceeds from the sale help fund the operation of the humane society's animal shelter.
