Amor Huff and Ernst Dairy

Monday, April 16, 2012

When families are forced to clean out the home of parents, after they are gone, objects of memorabilia are always discovered, Sometimes these artifacts find their way to the Museum of the High Plains, on Norris Avenue in McCook, to be shared with the people of this area. Such was the case in the past week, when the children of Amor and Minnie Huff brought glass milk bottles and their appropriate paper caps, from the Ernst Dairy, bringing back memories of a time now long gone, and a business that flourished in McCook for many years. Their father, Amor Huff was a long-time Ernst employee, and later owner of the company, (with George Walter). We are grateful to Amor and Minnie's family for sharing their treasures with all of us.
