Letter to the Editor

Book on autism

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Dear Editor,

I read the editorial last week on autism. It just happened that I was in the middle of a book "Sacred Spark" by Rev. Lisa Sykes, a United Methodist pastor and the mother of an autistic child. I would highly recommend the book for your reading.

Our local UMW has a reading program and this book was sent to us through the program. The editorial appeared to me to have been composed by a government entity. The realistic battle with the government by parents for their children and all children has been going on for many years. I learned from the book that the United Methodist Church Conference has also taken on the battle to get mercury out of vaccines and flu vaccine to protect the children.

My interest in the editorial and the book stems from a nephew (51 years old) and his mother's early battle with his autism. In my opinion it is hard to separate the mercury poisoning from autism.

I hope you are able to read the book.

Sincerely,

Marilyn Goodenberger
