Agenda shows county forging ahead, despite continued opposition

Friday, March 30, 2012

McCOOK, Nebraska -- A proponent of finding an alternate site for a new Red Willow County jail will make one more pitch to county commissioners Monday, but the official agenda already shows signs that he will be turned down.

Dale Dueland is on the agenda at 10:15 a.m., to "review and reaffirm citizens' recommendation to explore alternative jail site."

At 10:30 a.m., however, the county board is slated to consider approval of an agreement with Prochaska & Associates "for architectural services for the construction of the law enforcement center, to be located north of the courthouse."

And, at 10:45 a.m., commissioners are slated to review the site exploration and geotechnical engineering report submitted by Twin Rivers Testing & Environmental LLC.
