County to consider business loan, law center info

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Red Willow County Commissioners will be asked to approve a loan for a new welding business and help plan a brochure for bonds for the new county law enforcement center.

Meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, the board also will go into executive session at 9:15 a.m. to discuss pending litigation regarding a lawsuit by Thomas K. Leach against the county in connection with a failed helicopter kit company.

The loan, to JLB Welding, will be considered at 9:30 a.m., and the brochure for the law enforcement center bonding agent will be discussed at 9:45 a.m.

Mitch Lyster and Brad Swiggart of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network will present information for the employees' health insurance plan at 11 a.m.

An update on the Community Development Block Grant No. 3 account also will be provided later in the meeting.
