ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Juan Suarez Perez, 80, of Arapahoe, died Wednesday (Feb. 29, 2012), at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center, in Arapahoe.

He was born Feb. 11, 1932, at Floresville, Texas to Edwardo and Trinidad (Suarez) Perez.

At 18, he moved to Sedgwick County, Colorado. They worked as farm labors throughout Eastern Colorado. He married Clara Garcia on Dec. 7, 1957, and to this marriage five sons were born. He spent many years with Great Western Sugar Factory.

On Nov. 20, 1982, he married Gabriela Veronica Barron. They lived in Sedgwick and Sterling, Colorado, Sidney and Loomis, Nebraska. In 2000, they moved to Holdrege, Nebraska and in 2007, they moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska.

He moved into C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in 2007.

He was a member of the Sedgwick Lions Club, Holdrege Eagles Club, and St. Germanus Catholic Church of Arapahoe.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ann Perez; step-daughter, Clara Lynn (Bates) Morin, and granddaughter, Maria Elena Guadalupe Garcia Hankins; six brothers and sisters: Genoveva DeLeon, Santos Magana, Inez Sanchez, Anastacio Perez, Felix Perez, and Lupe Perez.

He is survived by his wife, Gabriela Veronica Perez of Arapahoe; sons, Juan Perez Jr. and wife, Georjean of Ulysses, Kansas, Gilbert Perez and Donna Rosales of Springfield, Virginia, Raoul (Rudy) Perez and wife, Kelli of Norton, Kansas, Kenneth Perez of Julesburg, Colorado, Charles Perez and wife, Amanda of Holdrege, Nebraska; step-sons: Georgie Burns of Julesburg, Colorado, Marvin Burns of Yuma, Colorado; brother, Pete Perez of Holdrege; sisters, Jesusa Balandrano of Pharr, Texas, Maria Perez of Hereford, Texas, Trinidad Tolentino of Hebberonville, Texas, 24 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Monday, March 5, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. (MT) at the Julesburg Christian Church, in Julesburg, Colorado with the Rev. Alan Harris officiating. Rosary will be Monday, March 5, 2012, at 3 p.m. (Central Time) at St. Germanus Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. (CT) at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, with the Rev. Robert Barnhill officiating.

Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery following the service in Arapahoe.

Memorials are suggested to the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska or donors choice.

Visitation is Sunday, March 4, 2012 until 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the service at the church.
