COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Jenna Marie Britten and Kevin James Carstensen were united in marriage July 9, 2011, Emanuel Church of the Nazarene in Council Bluffs, Iowa with the Rev. Richard Blodgett officiating.

Parents of the couple are Pam Britten of Council Bluffs, Iowa and the late Roger Britten and Jim and Joan Carstensen of North Platte, Nebraska.

The matron of honor was Joanna Kochenower, of Denver, Colorado. The maid of honor was Stephanie Padilla, of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Bridesmaids were Amanda Britten, sister-in-law of the bride, of Omaha, Nebraska and Mallory Speck, cousin of the bride, also of Omaha.

The bride's personal attendant was Emilie Macke, of Portland, Oregon.

The best man was Dan Kinzie, of Kearney, Nebraska.

The flower girl was Emilynn Speck, second cousin of the bride, of Omaha.

The bridegroomsmen were Chad Carstensen, brother of the bridegroom, of Omaha, Craig Carstensen, brother of the bridegroom, of Kearney, and Tyler Macke of Portland.

The ushers were Sias Scherger and Paul Dodson, both of Omaha, Ian Broad of Denver and Alex Tipton of St. Joseph, Missouri

A reception followed the ceremony at the Holiday Inn at Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Host couples were Cecilia and Dan Shultz, aunt and uncle of the bride, of Council Bluffs, Mary Hanson, aunt of the bridegroom, of North Platte, and Jacque Spangler, aunt of the bridegroom, of Lincoln.

The couple honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico after the wedding.

The couple resides in Lincoln.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She is working toward her master's degree and is a fourth grade teacher for Lincoln Public Schools.

The bridegroom is a 2005 graduate from North Platte High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He is studying to be a physician assistant at Union College in Lincoln.
