INDIANAOLA, Nebraska -- Douglas Clifford Shadley, 61, departed this life on Jan. 8, 2012, at his home in Indianola, Nebraska.

Doug was born in McCook, Nebraska on Nov. 19, 1950, to Glenn Clifford Shadley and Donna Mae (Bacon) Shadley. He grew up in McCook and attended high school there. He graduated in 1969. Doug went on to college in Denver, Colorado, where he was then drafted into the armed forces.

Doug enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He has two granddaughters in McCook, Nebraska: Sidney Noelle and Reese Alexandria Stockhaus. He also has two grandsons in Clinton, Oklahoma: Wyatt Ryan and Korbin Douglas Jackson.

Doug was well liked and well known by almost everyone around. He was never afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger. Doug could spend hours and hours talking about his time spent in the Marine Corps, as well as anything that was ever aired on the History Channel.
