Sarah and Nicholas Smith
HELENA, Montana -- Sarah Marie Messinger of Greeley, Colorado and Nicholas James Smith of Deer Lodge, Montana were united in marriage May 29, 2011 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Helena, Montana with the Rev. Marianne Niesen officiating.

Parents of the bride are Duane and Marie (Sehnert) Franzen of Greeley and Bruce Messinger of Boulder, Colorado. Grandparents are Walt and Jean Sehnert of McCook, Roger Messinger of McCook and the late Gloria Messinger.

Parents of the bridegroom are Teresa Karsky and Richard Smith of Deer Lodge. Grandparents are Betty Dockter of South Dakota and Viola Paluck of North Dakota.

Maid of honor was Carrie Stuart, cousin of the bride, of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Bridesmaids were Victoria Cordova and Emily Madison of Colorado, and Meghan Gallagher and Nicole Smith of Montana.

The best man was Paul Smith, brother of the bridegroom, of Deer Lodge.

The bridegroomsmen were Brian Winter, Ryan Janes, Tyler Anderson and Taylor Henson, all of Montana.

The flower girl was Samantha Messinger, cousin of the bride, of McCook. The ring bearers were Samuel and Elias Patrick, nephews of the bride, of Phoenix, Arizona and Alexander Messinger, cousin of the bride, of McCook.

The ushers were Matthew Sehnert of McCook and Steve Karsky of Minnesota, uncles of the couple.

The guest book and program attendant was Gretchen Sehnert, cousin of the bride, of McCook.

The violinist was Rebecca Sehnert, cousin of the bride, of McCook and the vocal soloist was Michelle Patrick, step-sister of bride. Brian Franzen, step-brother of bride, read the Bible lesson. Samantha Franzen, step- sister-in-law of the bride, read an original poem written by the bride for the bridegroom.

A dinner and dance immediately followed the wedding at the Great Northern Hotel in Helena.

Lance and Cheryl Messinger, aunt and uncle of the bride, of Longmont, Colorado, hosted the reception.

The bride graduated from Greeley Central High School in Greeley and Carroll College in Helena. She is completing her master's degree in communication at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

The bridegroom graduated from Powell County High School and Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. He is completing his master's degree in fisheries management at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

The couple lives in Fairbanks.
