ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Carolyn Sue Wendland, age 60, died on Friday (Dec. 2, 2011), at the Cambridge Hospital, in Cambridge, Nebraska.
She was born on March 7, 1951, at McCook, Nebraska to Richard and Viola (Wieland) Wendland.
She attended school at Arapahoe High School and graduated with the class of 1969. She went on to Kearney State College, in Kearney, Nebraska and earned her Bachelors degree in physical education. She worked a couple years at Baldwin Manufacturing in Kearney, before returning to Arapahoe. She then worked at Becton Dickinson of Holdrege, Nebraska where she was employed at the time of her death. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Wendland, and sister-in-law, Shelli Wendland
Survivors include her brothers, Jim and wife, Charlotte Thompson of Trinidad, Colorado, Darius and wife, Beth Wendland of Arapahoe, David Wendland of Holbrook, Dennis Wendland of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mike and wife, Emily Wendland of Clermont, Florida.
Viewing and visitation will be Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, from 10 a.m.to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at 10:30 a.m.at the Trinity Lutheran Church, at Arapahoe, with the Rev. James Moshier officiating. Cremation will follow the service with a private family inurnment at a later date at the Arapahoe Cemetery.
