Swat team arrives at McCook house surrounded since mid-morning

McCOOK, Nebraska -- A SWAT team was preparing to move in on a McCook home at about 2:45 p.m. today. The team arrived at the home about 1:30 p.m. to reinforce local officers involved in a standoff since mid morning. According to reports, officers were called to the home to check the welfare of a man living there, and after they entered the home, a single shot was fired. Officers have had the house surrounded since then, and McCook schools have been on a lockdown since before lunch. Parents were being asked to pick up their children from school.
