Life Chain

Monday, October 3, 2011

Approximately 130 people, spanning the generations, prepare to stand in silent protest against abortion Sunday as part of the McCook Life Chain. Newborn Ellie Sensenig, held by her grandmother, Tracy Adams of Trenton, and Patricia Hackert of Palisade were part of the protest. Andrew Peterson, left, and Tony Spilinek hold up a banner admonishing viewers to "Love all Life" and Sara Peterson, left, and Gabby Rogers, display the "McCook Right to Life" sign. Other protesters held signs with messages such as, "Men regret lost fatherhood," "Abortion hurts women," "Adoption, the loving option" and "Face it, abortion kills." The McCook Life Chain was one of more than 1,600 life chains nationwide. After getting placards in the JCPenney parking lot, participants lined B Street for an hour.
