OBERLIN, Kansas -- Charlotte Bowen, 75, died Friday (Sept. 9, 2011), at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin, Kansas.
She was born Nov. 29, 1935, at Watertown, South Dakota, to Charles and Angeline (Oestreich) Schmidt. She attended schools in Watertown and graduated from high school there.
On March 8, 1953, she married Marlin Bowen in Watertown.
She was a bookkeeper and operated an antique store.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Red Wing Collectors Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Eleanor Schmidt.
Survivors include her husband, Marlin Bowen of Oberlin; a son, Tim and wife, Connie Bowen of Oberlin; three daughters, Christine Bowen of Westminster, Colorado, Kathryn and husband, Edwin Washington of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mary and husband, Don Jacobs of Huron, South Dakota; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial services is Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Linda Willey officiating.
Friends may sign her book during regular business hours at the funeral home.
