APPLE VALLEY, Minnesota -- Faye A. Pennington, 88, formerly of McCook, Nebraska, died Saturday (Sept. 3, 2011).

She was born Nov. 11, 1922, at Lebanon, Nebraska, to Carl and Leah Waterman. She was raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1940.

On Sept. 4, 1942, she married Duane Pennington in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They lived in Loveland, Colorado; McCook, Alliance and Scottsbluff, Nebraska; and Branson, Missouri; before moving to Apple Valley, Minnesota, in 2003.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Duane; her children, Judy and husband, Robert Bruns, Gary and wife, Barbara Pennington, Ann and husband, Roger Land, and Edward and wife, Marnee Pennington; two brothers, Merwin and Dwight Waterman; a sister, Laura and husband, Marvin Green; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The memorial service was Tuesday at Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington, Minnesota followed by a private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Cerenity Bethesda Care Center in South St. Paul, Minnesota.
