BENKELMAN, Nebraska -- Donna Jean (Workman) Wiggins was born in St. Francis, Kansas on Nov. 23, 1948, to Roy and Permelia Workman. She was the 10th of 11 children, her twin brother, Dennis, being the eleventh. Donna passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Wray, Colorado at the age of 62 years.

Donna attended schools in Laird, Colorado, Benkelman, Nebraska, and Goodland, Kansas.

She married Tom Lawhon and through this marriage a son, Dallas Eugene, was born on March 14, 1967. They resided in Norton and Goodland, Kansas.

Donna married Bill Wiggins and a daughter, Mayetta May, was born but died shortly after her birth. They lived in Benkelman throughout their marriage. Bill died in 2000. Donna continued living in Benkelman and worked at Sarah Ann Hester Home for 35 years, retiring in 2011.

Donna collected Indian dolls. She loved the country life on the farm and ranch, and especially loved animals.

Donna and Ralph "Mac" Boon enjoyed a very loving relationship for the past seven years and many wonderful memories were created between them.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Wiggins; parents, Roy and Permelia Workman; infant daughter, Mayetta May; sister, Katie; brothers, Charlie and Rodney.

Donna is survived by a son, Dallas Wiggins and wife, Rachel of Hayes Center, Nebraska; grandson, Josh and granddaughter, Jolissa; step-grandchildren, Shane, Kendrc and Kelli. Richard Boon of Benkelman and his family Jeff and Becky Klippert and family of Colby, Kansas and Richard and Cody Boon of Benkelman, Nebraska. She is also survived by sisters, Delorise Pinckard of Wray, Colorado, Judy Minton of Wray, Colorado, Marlene Minton of Eckely, Colorado, and Darlene Workman of Eckley, Colorado; brothers, Don and wife Deosa Workman of Wray, Colorado and Ronnie Workman of Wray, Colorado, and twin brother, Dennis and wife Jeanette Workman of Haxtun, Colorado, an aunt Mary Frances Jenson of Stratton, Nebraska, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and her beautiful smile.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, August 23, 2011, 10 a.m. at Forch Funeral Chapel in Benkelman with Pastor Mark Phillips, Berean Bible Church, Haxtun, Colorado, officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be immediately following the service at the Max Community Center.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
