BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Emma Ethale Clason, 89, of York, Nebraska, formerly of California, died Sunday (Aug. 14, 2011), at York General Hearthstone.

She was born Dec. 5, 1921 at Fairmont, Nebraska.

She married Francis Clason after World War II. They lived for over 50 years at San Luis Obispo, California for more than 50 years where she worked in the housekeeping department at a hospital. Her husband died in 1999. She moved to York, Nebraska in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Francis; and a step-son, Eugene Clason on May 16, 2010.

Survivors include her step-son. Merle Dean Clason and wife Juanita of Beaver City, Nebraska; a step-daughter-in-law, Ruth Clason of Beaver City, Nebraska; a sister, Jessie of Minnestoa; 14 step-grandchildren; 39 step-great-grandchildren; and 33 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Hendley Cemetery at Hendley, Nebraska with the Rev. Brian McGee, officiating.

Viewing and visitation is Wednesday, 1-8 p.m., and Thursday, 10 a.m.-noon, at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska.
