Gregg Alyn Kasl

VENTURA, California -- Gregg Alyn Kasl, 50, died Thursday (July 7, 2011) in Ventura, California after battling cancer.

He is the son of Alyn and Frances Kasl, formerly of McCook, Nebraska. He was a 1979 graduate of McCook High School.

After one year at Nebraska Wesleyan University, he joined the U.S. Marines. After his discharge from the Marines, he attended Santa Barbara City College, where he graduated from the Marine diving technology program. He was a conunercial diver and a small business owner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alyn.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, ZaZa of Ventura: mother, Frances of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister, Julie of Omaha, Nebraska; and brother, Marty and wife, Pam of Lincoln.

Memorial services are Friday, July 22, in Ventura.

Memorials may be sent to the Kasl family and will be forwarded in his name to the U.S. Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and The American Cancer Society.
