OBERLIN, Kansas -- Ethel Railsback, 92, died Saturday (April 30, 2011) at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.

She was born April 17, 1919, in Decatur County, Kansas, to Clyde and Clara (Kleint) Cathcart.

She was raised on the family farm in Decatur County. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1937 and Fort Hays State University in 1944. She lived in Hays, Kansas, Great Bend, Kansas, Denver, Colorado, and Oberlin.

On Aug. 4, 1946, she married Gordon Railsback in Oberlin. She was a teacher.

She a was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Elsie Robinson.

Survivors include son, Tom Railsback of Great Falls, Montana; daughters, Mary and husband Mike Dicke of Bailey, Colorado, and Marian Railsback of Fort Collins, Colorado; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were today at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Interment is in Oberlin Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Chapel Church.
