County to meet with state regarding use of old city holding cells

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Red Willow County commissioners will meet with a representative of the State Fire Marshal's office to discuss any concerns connected with using McCook's Public Safety Center as a county jail.

The discussion will be part of the regular meeting Monday in the commissioners' room in the courthouse.

The meeting opens at 9 a.m., and the Fire Marshal's discussion is set for 10 a.m.

Other items will include signing the renewal agreement with TerraScan Inc. for software support for the assessor's office, discussion of Choice Gas rates, a two-year agreement with public defender Ryan Wilcox, a contract with the state for temporary housing of inmates and probationers, and a letter from the Federal Communications Commission regarding a Jan. 1, 2013 narrowband deadline.
