McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook City Council approved the recommendation of Sampson Construction as the construction manager for the McCook Municipal Facilities project. The approval came during a special meeting, Monday evening at Memorial Auditorium.
A construction management selection committee reviewed eight firms for the position, before interviewing the top four and finally selecting Sampson Construction as their recommendation.
Councillors also approved a change order authorizing a $1,766 increase to the Norris Band Shell restoration project. Berggren Architects of Lincoln failed to identify moisture and termite damage to the sill plates and furring strips, until after the existing stucco was removed, prompting the increase in project costs.
