McCOOK, Nebraska -- Sandra Starr Bauer, 69, passed away Saturday (Feb. 12, 2011), at the Community Hospital in McCook.
She was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Ada, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late William Eurcil and Gola Faye (Ridens) Henry. She grew up in Jennings, Kansas, where she graduated from Jennings High School in 1959, and she later graduated from the McCook Beauty Academy.
On March 3, 1963, Sandra married James Bauer at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. They have spent most of their life in McCook until 2002, when Jim had a stroke which required nursing home care.
For several years she owned her own cosmetology shop called Stylette Salon and was also a secretary and parts manager of her husband's small engine repair shop, known as Outdoor Power Equipment in McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, James Bauer of Trenton; two daughters, Tawna Shirley and husband, Brad of Maywood, Nebraska, and Tamara Taylor and husband, Randall of Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Jacob Bauer and his wife, Rebecca of Beatrice, Nebrask; and two grandchildren, Jordan Taylor and Kayden Bauer.
Memorial services are Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with the Rev. Tom Albertson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Friends may sign her register during business hours at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
