Shalee and Benjamin Peters
BENKELMAN, Nebraska -- Shalee Ann Roundtree of Parks, Nebraska and Benjamin Frederick Peters of Worms, Nebraska were united in marriage on July 17, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Benkelman with the Rev. Brian Fong officiating.

Parents of the couple are Tom and Julie Roundtree of Parks and Mike and Sherry Peters of Worms.

Grandparents of the bride are Edith Roundtree of Benkelman, the late Rex Roundtree, Beverly Hansen of Sun City West, Arizona, and the late Jack Moore. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Billie and Anita Peters of Worms and Larry and Eunice Hansen of Hampton, Nebraska.

The bride carried in her bouquet an embroidered hankerchief that was also carried by her mother and grandmother at their weddings.

The maid of honor was sister of the bride, Marnee Roundtree of Parks. The bridesmaids were sister of the bridegroom, Caiti Peters of Worms, Alexandria Rettele of Benkelman, Lauren Abernathy of Goodland, Kansas, and Chelsea Kinnett of Bailey, Colorado. The bride's personal attendant was cousin of the bride, Cindy Maas of Moore, Oklahoma.

The best man was Andy Benson of Lincoln, Nebraska. The bridegroomsmen were brother of the bridegroom, Sam Peters of Worms, Brett Thomas of Grand Island, Nebraska, Justin Jensen of McCook, Nebraska, and Kevin Richter of Adair, Iowa.

The flower girl was cousin of the bride, Katelyn Stamm of Benkelman. The ring bearer was Krayten Williams of McCook.

The ushers were brothers of the bride, Rory Roundtree of St.Louis, Missouri and Kiley Roundtree of Parks, and brothers-in-law of the bridegroom, Tyler Stoltenberg of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Joe Troester of Seward, Nebraska.

The candlelighters were cousins of the bride, R.J and Garret Stamm of Benkelman.

The guest book attendant was Kelli Jensen of McCook. The program attendants were sisters of the bridgroom, Michaela Stoltenberg of Fort Dodge and Allison Troester of Seward. Music was provided by sister of the bride, Marnee Roundtree of Parks and Jean Beck of Benkelman.

Immediately after the ceremony, the couple toured Benkelman in a horse and carriage owned and driven by Royce and Jan Rambat and Toas Dale of Bird City, Kansas.

The couple and wedding party arrived at the reception in a trailer owned and driven by Shane and Avery Bradney of Parks.

A reception took place at the Benkelman Legion Hall in Benkelman. The host couples were Godparents of the bride, Ron and Kim McElfresh of Sutton, Nebraska, aunt and uncle of the bride, Shiley and Don Maas of Mesa, Arizona, Larry and Aimee Benson of Worms, and aunt and uncle of the bridegroom, Ken and Colleen Case of Gibbon, Nebraska. The cake servers were aunt of the bride, Evelyn Stamm of Benkelman, cousin of the bride, Mindy Seagraves of Midwest City,Oklahoma, aunt of the bridegroom, Cheryl Seim of Chapman, Nebraska, and Jennifer Blake of Wood River, Nebraska.

The cakes were baked by aunt of the bride, Sherlyn Liess of Goodland. The gift runners were cousins of the bride, Jenna and Jali Seagraves of Midwest City.

The bride graduated from Dundy County-Stratton High School in Benkelman in 2008, and from Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas in 2010, with an associate's degree in radio/television broadcast. She is employed by 107.7 The Island radio station and NRG Media, LLC in Grand Island, Nebraska.

The bridegroom graduated from Heartland Lutheran High School in 2004, and graduated from Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska with an associate's degree in agricultural occupations. In 2009, he received a bachelor's degree in English from Concordia University in Seward. He works with his father and grandfather on the family farming operation.

The couple honeymooned in Western Nebraska and South Dakota the week after the wedding and resides in rural Worms.
