BENKELMAN, Nebraska -- Larry Duane Clark, 67, died Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2011), at his home near Benkelman.

He was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Benkelman to Charles L. and Virginia Mae (Evans) Clark. Larry attended country school near his home and continued his education at Benkelman High School where he was a member of the graduating class of 1961.

After high school, Larry worked for Krutsinger Construction for several years. He later moved to Denver, Colorado, where he continued his career in construction. Upon returning to Benkelman, Larry farmed and worked in metal salvage.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Clark; and sons, Jerry W. Clark and Billy Pawnee.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Clark of Benkelman; children, Annette Honeywell and husband, Richard of North Platte, Nebraska, Robert Clark and fiancée, Erika Brown of Benkelman, Lisa Merklin and husband, Matt of Benkelman, Peggy Gonzales of Michigan, Carolyn Flores and husband, Pete of Topeka, Kansas, Sammy Pawnee of Florida; mother, Virginia Clark of Benkelman; sisters, Judy Haines of Benkelman, Kathy Henderson and husband, Mike of Benkelman; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were today at Forch Funeral Chapel in Benkelman with Larry Forch Jr. officiating. Interment followed services at the Benkelman Cemetery.
