McCOOK, Nebraska -- Glenda Kay Critchfield, 54, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2011), at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Glenda was born on March 23, 1956, in McCook to Walter Ray "Pinky" and Thelma June (Meissner) Warburton. She graduated from McCook High School in 1975. In 1976, she was united in marriage to Martin Critchfield in McCook. To this union two children, Gabriel and Stacy, were born.

Glenda spent most of her lifetime in McCook where she worked for Sehnert's Bakery and Mac's Drive-In until her health prevented her from working. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and McCook Eagle's Women's Auxiliary.

She enjoyed going to singles dances, communicating with friends and family through Facebook, her church family, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Pinky and Thelma Warburton; and one sister, Elaine Warburton.

Survivors include her daughter, Stacy and husband, Evan Baxter of Cheyenne, Wyoming; son, Gabriel Critchfield and wife, Melissa of Bartley, Nebraska; two sisters, Laura and husband, Doug Callihan of Abilene, Kansas, and Jeanne Rodarmel of McCook; one brother, Galen Warburton and wife, Dorothea of McCook; five grandchildren, Karlie, Delaney, Treven, Juliett and Haven; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

Funeral services are Friday, 2 p.m., at the Evangelical Free Church in McCook with Pastor Bruce Lester officiating. Cremation will follow the service and a private family inurnment will be held later.
