'Heart' theme for chamber banquet
McCOOK, Nebraska -- The theme for the 86th annual McCook Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet Feb. 5 at the Republican River Valley Event Center is "The Heart of Nebraska ... McCook!"
Chamber directors were brought up to date on the planning for the event at their monthly board meeting where they also voted on award winners for the Community Builder, Community Service Organization, and Chamber Volunteer of the Year. Other honors that will be awarded at the banquet include the Ag Builder of the Year and the Cordial of the Year.
The event menu will include a pasta buffet, and tickets are available at the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce, 402 Norris Avenue, or from any board member for $25 each. Corporate tables with reserved seating for 8 are still available for $225 and will include a bottle of special wine at the table. The deadline for reserving a corporate table is Friday.
In addition to the banquet, the Chamber is also busy organizing the 21st annual Home and Leisure Show which will be Feb. 18 to 20 at the Army Reserve Building on Airport Road. Chamber Director Pam Harsh informed the board that the craft and home-based business area of the show has already sold out and other booths are selling steadily. The Show Coordinator is Linda Frank, and more information about having a booth at the show can be obtained from the Chamber office or from Linda.
