McCOOK, Nebraska -- Red Willow County, Nebraska, commissioners will set a date to open bids for the removal/demolition of county-owned property near the courthouse in McCook during their weekly meeting Monday.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m., in the commissioners' office on the third floor of the courthouse.
Commissioners are offering the apartment house at 524 Norris, at the north end of the courthouse block, for sale/removal or demolition, in an effort to create a parking lot. Monday, they will set a date to open bids.
Other agenda items include discussion of work zone and road closure traffic devices for use on rural roads, bridge inspections, an agreement through Miller & Associates to provide assistance to the county surveyor, and the transfer of funds within the 2010 budget.
Commissioners will also move to close the courthouse at noon on Thursday, Dec. 23, and remain closed on Friday, Christmas Eve.
