North Platte attorney appointed to 11th Judicial District judgeship
LINCOLN, Nebraska -- Gov. Dave Heineman today announced his appointment of Michael Piccolo of North Platte to serve as a county court judge for the Eleventh Judicial District of Nebraska, which includes the counties of Hooker, Thomas, Logan, McPherson, Lincoln, Perkins, Keith, Arthur, Chase, Dundy, Hayes, Hitchcock, Frontier, Red Willow, Furnas, Gosper, and Dawson.
In 2007, Piccolo, 56, founded a law practice in North Platte. He has previously worked with a number of law firms in Omaha and North Platte, and has practiced throughout the state since 1985. His career has spanned a wide array of legal issues, with his current practice emphasizing domestic relations, custody, complex property matters, family law, and mediation for civil cases.
His legal experience also includes involvement in several Court of Appeals cases and Nebraska Supreme Court appeals. He is a board member for the Central Mediation Center in Kearney, which provides mediation, facilitation and conflict resolution within a 35 county area in central and southwest Nebraska.
Piccolo received his degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1980, and graduated from Creighton University School of Law in 1984.
Piccolo and his wife Teresa have four children, Jena and John Hoehne, and Jenna and Allison Piccolo.
