LEWELLEN, Nebraska -- Donna "Irene" Fiesterman, 77, died Tuesday evening (Nov. 30, 2010), at the Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh, Nebraska.

Irene was born on March 14, 1933, in Oshkosh to Arlie and Alta (Richards) White. She grew up in Idaho where she received her education and graduated from high school in Pocatello, Idaho in 1951. She then attended nursing school in Pocatello and received her L.P.N. After school, she worked at the hospital.

Irene was united in marriage to Ted Fiesterman on July 17, 1956, in Minot, North Dakota. They made their home in Canada for a short time before moving to Oshkosh in 1958.

She was a nurse for Dr. Cowan, and later worked for Midwec/Marshalltown. Irene then became the administrator at the Lewellen nursing home. She also served as the administrator for the Garden County Hospital for a number of years before retiring in 2001.

Irene enjoyed making and collecting porcelain dolls, crocheting, sewing and helping on the dairy farm. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Hobby Club, Red Hat Society, Purple Shirt Club, participated in 4-H activities and was active in the Lewellen E.M.S.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Natalie Delatour; and great-grandson, John Delatour.

Irene is survived by her husband, Ted Fiesterman of Lewellen; her daughters, Debbie and husband, Van Delatour of Lewellen, Jody and husband, Pete Roberson of Oshkosh, Darlene and husband, Barry Schaeffer of McCook, Nebraska, Dorene and husband, Rich Paisley of Oshkosh, and Tricia and husband, Dan Foster of Broken Bow, Nebraska; foster son, Rick and wife, Pam Coulter; sister, Leola Ainsworth of Oshkosh; brother, Arlie and husband, D.D. White of Scottsdale, Arizona; 12 grandchildren, Chris and wife, Susan Delatour, Colby and wife, Tammy Delatour, Jolene Delatour and husband, Roger White, T.J. and wife, Shawna Roberson, Trinity and husband, Mike Kramer, Morgan and Seth Schaeffer, Tim, Josie and Diana Paisley, Ty and Danny Foster; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Oshkosh with Pastor Ray Weinerman officiating. Inurnment will follow in Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.

She was cremated and there is no visitation.
