Off to see the wizard

Serena Stacy portrays Dorothy, Nolan Henningson the Scarecrow, Jacob Larue the Tinman and Joe Hirsch the Lion in the Decatur Community High School production of the Wizard of Oz, set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the high school auditorium, 605 E. Commercial in Oberlin, Kansas. The play, the Royal Shakespeare Co. version by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, will be staged in the 1938-era auditorium which has just been updated with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. It is directed by Susan Nelson, with Leigh Davis assistant director and costumes, and Tony Marshall, set and lighting design.
