FORT WORTH, Texas -- Denzel Lee Kasson, born Nov. 4, 1946, in McCook, Nebraska, left his loved ones on Oct. 15, 2010, in Fort Worth at the age of 63, to walk along side Jesus.
He is survived by his wife Betty "BJ" Kasson of Watauga, Texas; sons, Chuck Hubbard and Kevin Hubbard; daughters, Ruth Ann Leonard and Danielle Phillips; and eight grandchildren, all of the Fort Worth area; daughter, Michelle Eberle and husband, Anthony, and grandchildren Amanda, Emily, and Brett Allen II, all of Phoenix, Arizona; mother, Burdene Kasson of Beaver City, Nebraska; and brother Dan Kasson and family of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Denzel was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Lynn; father, Glen Edward; grandparents, Emmett and Josie Walker, and Blanche and Wallace Kasson; and former wife, Gloria Gaile Rounkles.
Denzel graduated from Beaver City High School in Beaver City and attended Kearney State College. He then moved to Phillipsburg, Kansas with his young family and worked for Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas. In 1978, he moved to California to take a job with Santa Fe Energy Co., then to Midland, Texas, and finishing up in Houston, Texas, where he retired.
He spent a few years in Boise, enjoying his grandkids before moving to Watauga, Texas in February 2010, where he and Betty were married.
Denzel loved his daughter and step-children and especially his wife, Betty. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, TCU football, and spending time with his family.
Services were Friday at Alliance Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The Major Funeral Home and Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
