CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Albert B. Forman, 90, died Monday (Sept. 6, 2010) at Tri-Valley Health System Cambridge Manor.

He was born on the family farm south of Holbrook, Nebraska on May 25, 1920, to Faye F. and Edith M. (Kinnie) Forman. Albert grew up on the farm helping with chores and training horses. He attended Fairview Country School and high school in Holbrook graduating in 1938.

Albert worked on the farm until he retired. He enjoyed breaking horses and training them to do tricks. Albert was a life long resident of Furnas County except for the year he went to live in Sidney, Nebraska. He decided that it was not Furnas County and called the Cambridge Manor to get his old room back.

Albert took care of his father in their home in Holbrook. Albert moved to Cambridge Manor in 2001 due to poor health. At the Manor, he helped set tables and push other residents to meals. He also delivered the morning papers and in the afternoon the McCook Daily Gazette to residents rooms.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bryan in 1979.

He is survived by his two sisters, Marjorie L. Verplank of Sidney, and Mary E. Hornicek of Chappel, Nebrasaka; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Saturday (Oct. 9, 2010), 2 p.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge. An inurnment will be in the Holbrook Cemetery.
