School board puts budget hearing on agenda

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook School Board of Education will meet Monday night at 6 p.m. in the Junior High Conference Room. The agenda includes a budget hearing where patrons can voice public support or opposition to the district's total proposed tax requirement of a little more than $5.6 million for the 2010-11 budget year.

The board will also receive reports from Superintendent Grant Norgaard concerning summer school, curriculum updates, and the building project at McCook Elementary. Other items on the agenda include receipt of a $980 donation from Brown's Shoe Fit Company for the cross country program, and declaring the old tennis court fencing as surplus property. The board will also consider on first reading a new and revised Special Education policy and a revised Policy Adoption Policy.

The board also intends to go into closed session to discuss negotiations with McCook Education Association.
