HAMLET, Nebraska -- Ora Anna (Sailors) Ruettimann died Friday (Sept. 3, 2010).

She was born Oct. 19, 1922, near Palisade, Nebraska to John Chaney Sailors and Anna Frances (Harrington) Sailors. She graduated from Hamlet High School in 1940 as the valedictorian of her class.

She married Glen Dale Ruettimann on March 28, 1942, in Yuma Arizona. The couple moved to their farm north of Hamlet after her husband's service in World War II. In 1967, they moved into Hamlet.

She worked for Lytle's Service in Hamlet, and various businesses in Wauneta, Nebraska including Jack and Jill and WearHouse. She retired in 1984.

In 2005, she moved to Wauneta to be closer to family. She had resided at Heritage of Wauneta since June 29, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn on April 17, 2001; parents; sister, Pamel; brothers, Gerald, Johnny Forest, Orris, and Sonny.

She is survived by daughter, Jo Arenz and husband, Ed of Wauneta; sisters-in-law, Letha Sailors, Thelma Denbo, Jan Sailors, and Fern Schwenk; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Wednesday, 10 a.m. (MDT) at Hamlet Union Church with the Rev. Kevin McGraw officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Hamlet.

Visitation will be prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials can be given to Hamlet Union Church and the Wauneta Senior Center.
