CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Robert "Bob" C. Williams, 81, died Thursday (July 29, 2010) in Cambridge.

He was born north of Indianola on the family farm, Sept. 6, 1928, to Charles and Bessie Loux. After his mother's death when he was nine, he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Robert and Edith (Loux) Williams. He graduated high school in Curtis.

He was a carpenter by trade and lived in Arizona, California, Utah, Nevada, Colorado and Nebraska.

He was married to Patricia Ellis and to this union four children were born: Tim, Charles, Dan and Tina. He later married Doris (Maxwell) Wilson on Jan. 11, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil and wife, Roberta Williams and Jack Loux; sister, Lillian Loux; step-daughter, Sandra Foight; and nephew, Brad Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Cambridge; three sons, Tim and wife, Mary Williams of Cambridge, Charles Williams of Grove, Oklahoma; and Dan and wife, Rosa Williams of Scenic, Arizona; daughter, Tina and husband, Mike Jackson of Scenic, Arizona; step-daughter, Linda Wilson of Vancouver, Washington; step-son, Jack and wife, Margie Wilson of Tampa, Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., at First Congregational Church in Cambridge with Tim Burke officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be left at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary to either the American Cancer Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Fund.
