MORAGA, California -- Philip P. Frickey, 57, died July 11, 2010, in Moraga.
He was born June 29, 1953, in Oberlin, Kansas to Carl L. and Doreen (Nitsch) Frickey. He went to Decatur Community High School and graduated in 1971. Following high school he went to the University of Kansas, graduating in 1975, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1978.
He was a professor at the University of California Berkeley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl L. and Doreen Frickey.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Bernard of Moraga; son, Alexander Bernard Frickey of Moraga; daughter, Elizabeth Bernard Frickey of Moraga; brother, Charles Frickey of Oberlin; and sister, Michele Scherzer of Rockport, Texas.
Funeral services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Inurnment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Philip P. Frickey Indian Law Fund at the University of Kansas Endowment Association.
