OVERLAND PARK, Kansas -- Donald William Monter, 89, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska, died on Teusday (July 13,2010), at his home.
He was born on the family farm outside of Arapahoe to William H. and Lillie C. (Nieman) Monter.
He was baptized on Aug. 22,1920, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe and confirmed in 1934.
On Sept. 15, 1940, he married Luella Caroline Puls.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church before becoming a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Overland Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Clair Ann; daughters Deanna Kay and Cara Sue; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Luella C. Monter of Overland Park; son, Kent and wife, Kathi Monter of Overland Park; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
Funeral services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. James Moshier officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery.
Viewing and visitation will be Monday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, and prior to the service at the church with the family present from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m.
