McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook City Council will conduct the first of three budget workshops and present the preliminary 2010-11 annual budget for the city at tonight's semi-monthly meeting, 7:30 p.m., at Memorial Auditorium.
Council members also will review three proposed demolition contracts: the West Ward School building demolition contract with Land Construction in the amount of $96,880; P&G Excavating's contract for 508 South Street and 305 East 12th in the amount of $13,000; and Maris General Construction, LLC, with the lowest bid for 25 South Street, 504 South Street and 102 S. Sixth, in the amount of $36,700.
Other consent agenda items include;
Bid specifications for the painting of McCook Municipal Swimming Pool
Review of the Grant of License between the city, Mark A. and Elizabeth A. Wilcox and Source Gas Distribution, LLC, for a portion of the city right-of-way to be used for off-street parking
A resolution "expressing sincere thanks and appreciation" to the McCook Main Street Consortium for their monetary donation to the city, for use in the development of the downtown area
An agreement between Nebraska Department of Roads and the City of McCook for a resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 6 and 34, from the west junction to McCook, the project is tentatively scheduled for 2011 and be done at no cost to the city
A change order for the West U.S. Highway 6 and 34 sidewalk project to Walmart that will result in a net cost reduction of $34
A request from Peace Lutheran Church to close the alley located at the 400 block of E. Sixth, July 19 to July 23, for a Vacation Bible School
Consideration of a request from Wagner Auto Group to close the 200 block of W. Second and the 200 block of E. First beginning 5 p.m., July 16, until 5 p.m., July 17, for an auto sale
Application for a special liquor license submitted by Taste of Texas BBQ for the Chamber Mixer event at Tri State Spas on July 22, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Review of a request from the Red Willow County Fair Board for extra trash cans, four bleachers, eight picnic tables and the city water truck for the week of the fair, July 28 to Aug. 1.
