ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Mary Anne Farrel John, 80, died Friday (June 4, 2010) at her home in Arapahoe.

She was born on April 15, 1930 in Overton, Nebraska to Harry and Margaret (Eliker) Wilson. She was the third child with two older sisters, Betty and Norma. Later a younger brother came along, Donalee "Sonny." The first two years were spent on a farm east of Overton, then the family moved to a farm east of Wilsonville. During the depression the family lost the farm and moved to a family owned farm south of McCook. The family returned to the Wilsonville area where she attended school and graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1948.

She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in June of '51 and was honorably discharged in August of '52. She attended Ranger Jr. College and Durnham Business College on the G.I. bill. She received a degree in accounting.

In August of '52, she was married to Lee Andrew Harr. To this union a daughter was born, Mary Margaret "Sandi" Harr. In 1958, she was married to Duane Wilmot and to this union two two sons were born, Clifford Duane and Jeffrey Lynn.

She was a member of the American Legion Post of Arapahoe, Quilters Guild, and China Painter's.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey Lynn; son-in-law, Dennis Kasson; and sister, Betty Gill.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandi of Wilsonville; son, Clifford of Wilsonville; sister, Norma and husband, Pat Kasson of North Platte; brother, Sonny and wife, Ella Wilson of Wilsonville; brother-in-law, Howard Gill of Norton, Kansas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were graveside at the Wilsonville Cemetery today. Giving words of comfort was Kirk Kasson. Military Honors were done at the graveside.

Memorials may be left in her name to either the Wilsonville Cemetery or the Arapahoe Senior Center.
