CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Roberta M. Williams, 91, died Wednesday (April 28, 2010), at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital

She was born Dec. 21, 1918, at her home on her parent's farm in Red Willow County near Indianola, to Chester and Ora (Probasco) McCafferty. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1937.

She taught rural school for 2 years.

On Jan. 27, 1939, she married Cecil Williams. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2000. The couple farmed in Frontier County for 41 years before retiring to a home in Bartley.

She was a member of the Bartley Christian Church and the Cambridge Hospital Auxiliary. She also spent many hours volunteering at the Thrift Shop in Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil, a son, Bradley D. in February 0f 2006; three brothers, Harvey, Raymond, Thayne "Dallas"; and one sister: Ora "Nellie" Ayers-Pennick.

Survivors include two daughters, Dian and husband, James Hubbell of Lincoln and Vonda and husband, Michael Taylor of Edgar, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Williams of Indianola.; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Bartley Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Burke officiating. Interment will be in the Bartley Cemetery.

Memorials may be left in her name to the Bartley Christian Church at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
