CLAYTON, Kan. -- Robert M. "Bob" Linden, 94, died Sunday (April 4, 2010) at Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kan.
He was born June 12, 1915, at New Almelo, Kan., to Joseph Linden and Theresa Nusse. He grew up on a farm near New Almelo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Nov. 5, 1946, he married Mary Bruggeman in New Almelo. He resided in Lenora and the New Almelo area.
He was a farmer/rancher.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in New Almelo and the Norton American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Mae" Linden on March 20, 2000; his parents, Joseph and Theresa Linden; two sons. James and Jerry; son-in-law, Don Dinkel; three brothers; one sister; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, Don Linden and Dennis Linden, both of McPherson; two daughters, Lolene Dinkel and Janeice Linden, both of Littleton, Colo.; one daughter-in-law, Roxie Linden of Wichita; sister, Josephine Walker of Atchison; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are Thursday, 11 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in New Almelo with the Rev. Vincent Thu Laing officiating. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in New Almelo.
Visitation is Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday, 8 a.m. until service time at the parish hall in New Almelo.
Vigil services is Wednesday, 7 p.m., at the parish hall.
