Dr. Paul M. St. Aubin died Saturday (March 13, 2010) at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was 89 years old.

He was born on June 22, 1920, in Stoney Point, Ontario, Canada to Dr. Joseph Hildege and Gertrude (Booth) St. Aubin.

He graduated from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario with his Doctorate. He did an internship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and Oakridge, Tennessee in cancer research. He was also affiliated with Harvard Medical College. He later studied the effects on the Japanese people as a result of the atomic bomb in Nagasaki and Okinawa, Japan until 1959. He returned to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Omaha, Neb., and became the Dean of Radiology. Dr. St. Aubin practiced radiology in McCook, Neb., at St. Catherine's Hospital for a time, and finished his career in Gardner, Mass., in June of 1985.

After his retirement, Dr. St. Aubin and his friend, Emmit Ruebin purchased a farm in Bedford, Iowa. They lived there until Emmit's passing at which time Dr. St. Aubin returned to the McCook community where he was living at the time of his death.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Hildege and Gertrude St. Aubin; two sisters, Genevieve Mathoney and Catherine Mosher; and two brothers, Dudley and Wilfred St. Aubin.

Survivors include his brother, Gerald St. Aubin and wife, Madeline, of St. Lambert, Quebec; sister, Lois and husband, Justin Emery, of Windsor, Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial service was Monday, March 22, 2010, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating. His body will be sent to his homeland of Canada after the service. Burial will be in the Annunciation Cemetery in Stoney Point, Ontario
