Born in Bartley, Neb., on Feb. 19, 1926, she attended and graduated from Indianola High School in the class of 1944. Ruth married Richard Urling, U.S. Army, CPL, they later divorced, and she then married Rollind "Bob" Dailey, U.S. Air Force CWO3, who preceded her in death in 1984.

She devoted her life to her family, and those in need. One of the most enjoyable and rewarding times of her life was working as a nursing assistant for hospice care. As a nursing assistant, she could ease the burden of others by her cheery attitude and genuine concern, thus endearing herself to all who knew her.

A Mass was held on March 12, 2010, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and an informal gathering for friends and family was held at the home of Mick Urling.
