Gerald E. Sines, 91, died Wednesday (March 10, 2010) at Community Hospital in McCook.

He was born on March 20, 1918, at Marion to Lester and Lela (VanPelt) Sines.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

On April 5, 1942, he married LeeOra Leist in Osborne, Kan.

After school, he started working for Miller Dairy. He later purchased Zip Delivery in McCook. After the sale of his business, he started working for Beacon Moving in Chicago as a truck driver until his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of the Assembly of God Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Virgil and Cleith; and a sister, Virginia Harsch.

Survivors include his wife, LeeOra and a sister, Carolyn and husband, Gary Leitner all of McCook.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Assembly of God Church in McCook with the Rev. Jamie Mockry officiating. Burial will be in the Dresden Kansas Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, 8:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Friends and family may leave condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.
