OBERLIN -- Mary Ann Horney, 78, died Thursday (March 4, 2010), at her home in Oberlin.
She was born Oct. 27, 1931, at Oberlin to James and Elizabeth (Chapiesky) O'Toole. She was raised on a farm near Cedar Bluffs. She attended Decatur Community High School, graduating in 1949 and then attended Halstead School of Nursing.
On Nov. 3, 1965, she married Wynn Kenton Horney in Kansas City, Mo.
She was a registered nurse and lived and worked in Chicago, Ill., Missouri and Colorado, moving to Oberlin in 1990.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Cosmopolitan Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include a step son, Richard Horney of Colorado; two brothers, John and wife, Sybil O'Toole of Hiawatha, Kan., and Larry and wife, Barbara O'Toole of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Martha Munson of Oberlin; and one step-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Mark Berland officiating. Burial will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.
The vigil is Sunday, 7 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.
A memorial has been established for the Oberlin Library or Hospice.
