Vadna E. Buhler, 96, died Wednesday (March 3, 2010) at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Oct. 22, 1913, at Bennington, Neb., the daughter of the late Frederick William and Caroline (Luschen) Cohrs. Her early years were at Bennington where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. The family moved to Trenton, Neb., where she graduated from Trenton High School in 1932.
On March 2, 1933, Vadna married Harry Buhler and they spent their lives farming in the Trenton community.
She was a member of the Lutheran Guild in Trenton, The Idle Hour Club, the Busy Belle Hobby Club and the Community Quilters. She enjoyed her hobbies and many crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry on May 20, 1988; her parents; one daughter, Marlene Nealeigh; two brothers, Raymond and Walter Cohrs; one sister, Dorene Berger and neice Marlene.
Vadna is survived by her son-in-law, Ken Nealeigh of Gillette, Wyo.; two grandchildren, Candi Staudinger and husband, Glenn of Gillette, Wyo., and Rod Nealeigh and wife, Linda of Curitiba, Brazil; five great-grandchildren, Daicia Lahmeyer and husband, Matt, Chelsea Sparks and husband, David, Miranda Sears and husband, Nick, Darci Nealeigh and Jordan Nealeigh; four great-great-grandchildren, Quinn Lahmeyer, Kallan Sparks, Carter Sears and Kaylen Sears, relatives and friends.
Funeral services are Saturday, 3 p.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Ken Nealeigh officiating. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery at Trenton.
Visitation is Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Herrmann Funeral Home.
