TRENTON -- Edward Albert Bailey, 81, died Friday (Feb. 26, 2010) at Community Hospital in McCook.
Ed was born on April 3, 1928, at Maringo, Neb., in Hayes County to Ervin N. and Millie F. (Bussard) Bailey. He attended rural country school.
In 1954, he was united in marriage to Mona Smith. To this union two daughters were born. He was later married to Alberta Louise Cooper on Dec. 7, 1966, in Denver, Colo. They eventually made their home in McCook after Ed's retirement.
Among his favorite pastimes were fishing, raising a large garden every year and being an active member of a Rod and Gun Club.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ervin and Millie Bailey; his wife, Alberta on March 1, 1998; two sisters, Fern at birth and Jeraldean Mowry and husband, Ordmond; brothers, Edgar at birth and Marlon at age six months.
Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Kriger and Cheryl Harris; two brothers, Dale Bailey and wife, Beverly, of Trenton and Melvin Bailey and wife, Donna, of Arapahoe; four sisters, Shirley and husband, Byron Peters, of McCook, Annabelle Ebert of McCook, Lola and husband, Roland Wilke, of Culbertson and Twila and husband, Roger Olson, of Grand Island; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010, 10 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort McPherson Cemetery, Maxwell, Neb., at 1 p.m.
