LAVA HOT SPRINGS, Idaho -- Dennis Ray "Buzz" Buzzell, 75, died Sunday (Feb. 14, 2010) at his home in Lava Hot Springs.

He was born in Culbertson on June 6, 1934, to Glenn 'Short' and Velma (Haussler) Buzzell.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He moved to Hillsboro, Ore., where he met and married Shirly. He moved to Sacramento, Calif., where he worked for Aero Jet General for several years. From there he moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., where he worked for Sylvania and from there he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked at the University of Utah Geological Dept., and retired from L-3 Communications. After retirement he moved to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, in 2003.

Dennis was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Salt Lake City and the VFW, also in Salt Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Buzzell.

Survivors include his mother, Velma Buzzell; one son, Dennis A. Buzzell and wife, Lyn of Lava Hot Springs; one daughter, Julie and husband, Mark Patterson of Lava Hot Springs; two step-children; granddaughters, Cori and husband, Whalan Rife, of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, Kristina Buzzell and Crystal and husband, Oscar Galicia, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His ashes will be buried in the McCook Cemetery at a later date.
