LINCOLN -- Grace Joy Hutchins, daughter of John and Louisa Guthrie was born June 21, 1909 at Exeter, Nebraska and passed away on Feb. 6, 2010 at age 100.

She graduated from the Exeter Public Schools, attended Hastings College and taught in the Exeter and Lincoln Public School systems.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and was a 50-year member of Myrtle Chapter No.94 Order of the Eastern Star.

In 1931 she was united in marriage to Kenneth H. Joy. Two children were born to this union, Muriel Eisenach and Dale Joy.

In 1974, following the death of Kenneth Joy, she was united in marriage to Goodsell B. Hutchins.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Kenneth Joy and Goodsell Hutchins; a daughter, Muriel Eisenach; a son, Dale Joy; two sisters, Bessie Turner and Clara Guthrie; and a brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Meriam Guthrie.

Survivors include one son-in-law, Robert Eisenach of McCook; five stepchildren and spouses, Ronald and Nancy Hutchins of Pottersville, N.J., Thomas and Yvonne Hutchins of Uniontown, Ohio, Dr. Joel and Judy Hutchins of Gordon, Kathy and Fred Hoffmann of Springfield, Ill., and Drs. Mark and Deanna Hutchins of Lincoln; five grandchildren and spouses, Marybeth and John Roschewski of Culbertson, Allen Eisenach of Los Angeles, Calif., Thomas and Patty Eisenach of McCook, Carol and David Friedman of Chino Hills, Calif., and Barbara Joy of Westminster, Colo.; 11 step-grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.

Memorial Service are Friday, 11 a.m., at Eastmont Towers, Chapel area, 6315 O Street in Lincoln. Family will hold a private graveside service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to Eastmont Foundation (to be designated to the Eastmont Tower Care Center) and First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.
