INDIANOLA -- Ardis Faye Brown went to be with her Lord on Monday (Feb. 8, 2010) at the Cambridge Hospital. She was 73 years old.

She was born in Furnas County on June 3, 1936, to Albert Francis and Madeline Jean (Dolph) Gutzman. She attended Sunny Hillside Rural School and Cambridge High School.

She married Robert R. Brown in Cambridge on Dec. 26, 1955.

Ardis was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Indianola and the United Methodist Women. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed ceramics, word searches and puzzles, table games, shuffleboard, fishing, reading, and writing poetry.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert on March 8, 2001; a son, John E. Brown; three sisters, Phyllis Jean, Mary Ellen Gutzman and Marjoria Ann Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Walker and Robert Jr. and wife, Deanna Brown, all of Indianola; two daughters, Wanda and husband, Dick Parman of Benkelman and Pam and fiance, Jr. Farr of Indianola; a brother, Francis and wife, Marjoria Gutzman of Indianola; three half-sisters, Jean and husband, Dave Wallace of Florida, Kay and husband, Rob Bellamy of Omaha, and Shevawn and husband Rocky Willis of Culbertson; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m. at the Indianola United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sherry J. Sklenar officiating. Inurnment will be in the Indianola Cedar Grove Cemetery.
